The Fundraising Committee is responsible for organizing and supporting a variety of events and initiatives that generate funding for community organizations, Rotary Waterloo programs, and the club’s Community Grant initiatives. Through a combination of annual events, sponsorship efforts, and member engagement, the committee helps strengthen the club’s ability to make a meaningful impact locally and beyond.
The committee oversees several major fundraising initiatives throughout the year, including the State of the City event, Golf Fore KidsAbility, and RibFest. Each event involves a wide range of responsibilities such as sponsor outreach, registration management, volunteer coordination, event logistics, fundraising activities, public engagement, and collaboration with community partners and municipal organizations.
In addition to large-scale events, the committee also manages ongoing fundraising efforts within the club, including initiatives such as the weekly 50/50 draw at club meetings and encouraging member participation in recurring donation programs.
The committee works closely with other Rotary Waterloo committees, particularly the Communications Committee, to promote events and engage the broader community through social media and other outreach efforts. Volunteers support many aspects of these events, including registration, public interaction, fundraising activities, setup, and on-site event operations.
Because the committee supports multiple events and programs throughout the year, responsibilities can vary significantly depending on the initiative and the role a member takes on within the committee or its subcommittees.
